In today’s “Broadsheet” on Salon.com      http://www.salon.com/mwt/broadsheet/2008/03/14/shlessinger_silda/index.html Kate Harding discusses the growing phenomenon of women tearing down women in the press.  She points out that this isn’t really any different than what’s been going on for ages, but having the insane, Dr. Laura telling Silda Wall Spitzer that she drove her husband to cheat displays the venomous chatter at its’ worst. 

This type of jealous, self-serving hatred is delightful for many of “the boys” who are gleeful when a woman dares to tear down and slash at another woman, feminist or not.  Since “the boys” have had control of the media, business and banking for too long, I think this is the only way self-righteous snakes (a.k.a. Dr. Laura) can continue to ensure their own popularity and try to keep their visibility in our media.

A more pertinent example is the Harris County District Attorney’s race going on right now.  First of all there is the former D.A. who stupidly used his work email for campaign distribution, pornography and amorous dialogues with his assistant.  http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/texassouthwest/stories/DN-rosenthal_16tex.ART.State.Edition1.4586abc.html Everyone in law enforcement, the courthouse and the district attorney’s office knows Chucky-poo openly favored “the bitches” who daily make life miserable for their women co-workers.  In fact, Rosenthal turned his little head (not the BIG ONE) when KS and LD plotted to make life miserable for their co-workers rather than work professionally at their jobs.  He garnished favors on them whenever they openly criticized other division chiefs and he made no one guess that he approved of their ability to tear down peers whose positions were administrative and not necessarily litigous.

It’s humorous that KS (Chucky-poo’s chosen successor) is dodging bullets from PL and the media when she can barely keep her nasty tongue behind her teeth!  http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/metro/5618440.html  Perhaps the congregation at Lakewood Church “forgives” KS her indiscreet, judgemental, tactless remarks on an official court record http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/falkenberg/5493213.html, but I’ll bet the real KS and LD will still lead the pack as racist, power hungry, shrews regardless of who wins the District Attorney’s race.

So, KS and LD, while you think that emulating the insane Dr. Laura is the only way to gain prominence and media attention, make no mistake that if you are in office (rather than PL or CB) your true characters will emerge, just like ‘ole Chucky-poo’s has emerged.  You’ll continue to harass peers who work harder than you or are better liked than you.  You’ll continue to smear the reputations of other respected folks (like you are now doing with PL and did with Lakewood’s congregation) in order to keep your names in the press.  But really, don’t fool yourselves, just like Dr. Laura, eventually your spider veins, wrinkled faces, & sagging asses will be targets of other power mongering bitches’ attacks and then you’ll be replaced by someone more venomous than you.  Chickens ALWAYS come home to roost.
