Today I saw a comment by qwikster on the Neupro update #4. They said that their sources told them the Neupro patch would be available in the U.S. November 7th or 8th. While I don’t doubt the sources, I am a little skeptical about this news. I saw another neurologist last week and he is starting a trial with the revised Neupro patches that are to be re-released in the U.S. The study hasn’t started yet, but he is working on the final details now with the folks at UCB.
If anyone else has news about Neupro, please post a comment. Those of us who depend on this patch grow impatient as we see our supplies dwindling.
I saw my neurologist yesterday and asked him about the neupro patch. His take on what I have been reading on the internet is that it will be available in Europe or should I say the new patches. The compassion law is no longer an option as I have called The FDA, US Customs and UCB. Now there is a three ring circus. My neurologist does not trust any patches coming from Canada but does trust those from Europe.He also does not think it will be available in America right now. but who knows.I have great sympathy for all of you who have PD as two of my older mentors both died from it. I use the patch for Restles leg and Periodic limb. Nothing else comes close to working. I will not bore you with the other issues I face as I am glad to find a blog with some good info. I was wondering if you would be willing to send me the name of the neurologist who seems very involved. I gave a lot of info to UCB when I called them but they need doctors to further their case and I would be glad to give your neurologist any info he/she needs . My e-mail is biohalflife@yahoo.com. let me just end this by saying that many studies using LYRICA seem to improve delta sleep which is essential for feeling refreshed. Lyrica is used for back pain and neuropathy but it may help some of you out there with sleep. Just a thought. sleep is my area of expertise as that is one of the areas that I teach. My prayers go out to all of you who have a disease that is beyond any words I could use. I hope I have not offended anyone as that is not my intent.

I found this info on Reuters and several other news sites. Looks like Neupro may be awhile in coming to the USA. I have RLS and I “flip like a fish” at night… my husband says. I have had no luck with Recuipe. I was taking Mirapex at almost 1mg a day but was so tired. I was able to decrease that dose after finding out my Ferritin level was low. Now I take Ferrous Sulfate (iron) and about .125 of Mirapex
NEUPRO!!!!! was so great to use for 3 months. I was so alert, rested and back to quick thinking. I could relax and never have RLS break through.
